I hate how I never want to go. I love how once I bring myself to go, I usually have a pretty good time.
I am my father's daughter.
It's been a while...
I have to admit...I kind of forgot about this place. I deleted the app to update and that was it. Out of sight, out of mind, I suppose. It's not like I haven't had other things to focus on, anyway, but I'm going to try to get back to it. Got a few fun things coming up, so hopefully I can find some time to share.
So, where have I been? Mostly packing & moving, since the last time I posted. At first I was excited about moving...new place, fresh start. Didn't realize the fresh start would mean so much work. Spent some time cleaning the old place, CG did most of that, while I spent a lot of time cleaning the new place. Apparently the cleaning crew that was supposed to go through our new place, before we moved in, was actually just a painting and carpet cleaning crew...nothing else. Needless to say, I hated the new place for a while...just about a month later, it's finally becoming home. CG and I have a few ideas for some fun projects, to make it our own, so we'll see what becomes of it. Slowly changing my mind about the leaving right when our lease is up & not unpacking anything I don't need. Still not planning on staying there forever, but the neighborhood's awesome and everyone around us seems pretty chill, so I'm not in such a hurry to get out of there.
PAX is coming up! Looking forward to getting away with the guys and spending some alone time doing the things I love in Seattle. I need to make a list of the classes I want to attend, while at PAX, so my 3-day pass doesn't go to waste. Maybe there's an app for that. Definitely going to spend some time wandering EMP and chilling at my favorite park.
Think I may attempt a detox, while on vacation...I'm way over due for a cleansing. Probably go with all fruit & detox tea, that way I can still enjoy the deliciousness of the season.
Finally got around to replacing my Pentax, that was stolen by some tweakers a few years ago. A little mishap with a Viso put my Mamiya out of commission for a while (hoping just until I get around to cleaning it), so I decided to go eBaying for something for the trip. Got a steal on a K1000 and some lenses and some filters, plus a bag to keep it all in. Was pleased when CG wasn't too pissed about it...my birthday coming up and all. Super excited to see what it'll produce. The Mamiya is pretty amazing, so it's going to be hard to top, but I figure if I get some good film it should be able to at least come close.
Realizing this place needs some work, so I'm going to need to find some time to kick back and get lost in geek world for a few hours. Maybe after PAX.

'Now ain't that America...'
Thanks, Jenni, for the pic...made my day!

Super sad times, right now. I just pulled my sideburns. I'm going to miss them. Hopefully, one I heal everything else out, Jenni'll redo the doubles, for me...one at a time.

Not as pretty as the first batch, but the cherry in the center is where it's at.

Feeling fairly productive, this morning...well, at least until I lost my laundry card.
Woke up around 8:15 and got the laundry put in. If you have to do laundry on Sunday...morning is the time to do it. Decided that while I wait for the laundry, I'd start a batch of red velvet cupcakes. CG wanted me to put the cherries inside, instead of on the top, so I'm trying it with half the batch. The other half I'm just going to do the way I did last time, with cream cheese frosting in the middle.
Thinking about painting, but actually just want to go lay back down for a little while. Going to get the last batch of cupcakes out of the oven and do just that.
Short day at the shop, today. Looking forward to being busy the entire six hours that we're there. Not looking forward to staying late, another night...though last night was totally worth it, always enjoying getting some experience in.
Not sure what I'm going to do with my evening, yet. However, I do need to find some boxes and start packing, so I might get to that. I'll probably leave the frosting of the cupcakes until later, as well, that way they can cool and I'm not rushing to get them done.

It's mornings like these, when I'm awake & alert @ 4:30am, that I want to just keep driving. Forget work & take a roadtrip to an unknown destination, for breakfast.
